| Description | The North of Ireland Joint Agency Monitoring Programme brings together the efforts and investments of Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI), the Loughs Agency and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency to deliver a comprehensive in-situ monitoring programme around the Northern Irish Coastline. It maintains a network of 10 moorings around the coast of north Ireland located in impounded estuaries, sea-loughs and coastal seas. All moorings measure temperature, salinity, fluoresence. Some moorings also measure turbidity and Dissolved Oxygen (DO). Instruments in the western Irish Sea and Belfast Lough also measure nutrients on a periodic basis. Instruments are serviced approximately every 6 weeks and additional spatial surveys completed during servicing. |
